So you've left the warmer climes of Azeroth and set sail for the frigid North to quest for gold in the Borean Tundra or Grizzly Hills. If you're new to WOTLK you're probably asking yourself the age old question of just how do I farm for gold in Wrath of the Lich King?
If you have made it thus far in the World of Warcraft, then it's likely that your gold making skills aren't too bad. They probably just need a little oiling when it comes to farming gold in WOTLK. Every major release of WOW has it's own nuances when it comes to making easy wow gold, WOTLK is no exception. Yet, it's important to emphasize that the devil is in the gold farming detail and if you understand the basics of making wow gold in previous versions of the game you should still be in good shape with these techniques in WOTLK.
One thing to remember is the importance of the World of Warcraft gold economy and the efficient use of the Auction House. Unfortunately, there are no new Auction Houses in WOTLK and so to auction your loot you still need to high-tail it back to Azeroth to post your gear. For us Mages, this is not a problem as we come skilled in the use of teleportation and the making of portals. For you lesser mortals and the not so mortal (Horde) you will either have to use your Hearth Stone set to a major city or better still set up an Auction Mule or Alt.
An Auction Mule is an alternate character created on the same server who's only job is to wait patiently outside an auction house of your choosing and to receive your loot via the mail system. The Mule carries out all of your auction house transactions and saves you the long trek back across the snowy wastes to Azeroth.
Having sorted out your Mule, the next thing to concentrate on what to farm in WOTLK. This is not a difficult question because the same basic class of wow materials are in demand in WOTLK, albeit at a higer level of experience. Tailors are looking Cloth, Jewelcrafters are looking for Ore, Alchemists and Scribes for Herbs and Engineers are looking for everything! So, if you have any of the gathering professions - Mining, Herbalism and Skinning - and can be a net provider of these WOTLK materials, then you'll make easy wow gold in WOTLK.
But what if you don't have a gathering profession? Then shame you! You obviously need to read the Journal of Marcus Ty which is a free 6 part e-guide on the basics of making easy wow gold. But all is not lost. You can still make gold in WOTLK by farming those mats that do not need a profession.
